Tips for Visit

wear long sleeved t-shirts and trousers, water proof shoes and rain coats the weather is always changing.

Bring plenty of water and snacks

The volcanic terrain can be challenging, guests are advised to bring water for rehydration and snacks for energy.

Keep a safe distance from the animals and do not litter.

Tour Plan

01

Day 1 kigali to Musanze

This tour starts in Kigali. A driver guide will pick guests, give them a small briefing of the tour and then drive to the Kigali genocide memorial.

Pick up: 9:00am

Here guest will pay their respects to the victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. Guests will be provided with audio materials in different languages.

Estimated tour time: 2:30min

At around midday, guests will drive out for lunch and after Lunch drive to Musanze for night stay.

Night stay Options: One and Only Gorillas nest, Volcanoes boutique hotel, Singta kwitonda lodge.

Day 2 Gorilla trekking

This day begins with an early breakfast, and then head out to park headquarters for briefing. The Guests are expected to be at the park by 7am.

Guests will be signed an experienced tracker who lead  the guest to a designated troop. Here you will be able to closely interact with the Gorillas in their natural habitants.

Guest have an hour to interact with the Gorillas, see how they feed, the young ones playing and grooming each other.

Gorilla trekking can take 4-6 hours depending on the fitness of the guests.

Guests will go back to the hotel for Lunch and then drive to Rubavu for night stay.

Night stay options: Kivu Serena, Hill view hotel, Gorillas lake Kivu Hotel.

Day 3 lake Kivu

On this day, relax at lake Kivu in Rubavu, this is the best place to relax after gorilla trekking.

Guest can visit the hot springs which are believed to have natural healing minerals.

Rubavu is a vibrant town with bars, restaurants and coffee shops and much more.

On the next day the guest will travel back to Kigali and the tour ends here.
